The 12th International exhibition Self-Education, Studies & Career Fair 2014 will take place in Vilnius, Lithuania. The ‘STUDIES. Career’ exhibition organised together with the ministry of Education and Science of Republic of Lithuania since 2003, in the course of ten years has turned into the most important education and knowledge event in Lithuania.

Over 40,000 school-graduates, students, teachers, employees and employers visit this exhibition every year. The Self-Education, Studies & Career Fair encourages everyone to search for new possibilities of self-education, to study, improve oneself, pursue career, learn languages and receive attractive both, study and employment offers.

Market Overview

The educational system in Lithuania has gone through a continuous process of development in the past few years. The options and the quality of the system have increased. Research from the Social Research Institute in Lithuania indicates that from 70 to 90 percent of Lithuanian youth aged 15 – 24 are planning to emigrate. Moreover, 60 to 70 percent of youth with a higher education are planning to emigrate. Most plan to emigrate for a short period ranging from several months to several years but often their plans change once abroad and they tend to stay longer.

Fair Outline

At the Self-Education, Studies & Career Fair, much attention is given for life-long learning. The exhibition introduces widely opportunities of adult education with emphasis to formal and informal education and self-education. The great interest of young Lithuanian people in studies abroad, has been attracting more and more foreign universities to the exhibition.

In 2011, higher education studies abroad were represented by a record number of exhibitors - 34 universities and colleges from 15 countries: Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Ireland, Denmark, Great Britain, the USA, Canada, Poland, the Netherlands, France, Russia, Finland, Switzerland and Germany.

The exhibition STUDIES has been organised since 2003. During four years, the exhibition became the most important education event in which all vocational schools and higher establishments of Lithuania take part.

Every year more and more companies that organised language and business courses as well as universities and colleges from abroad join the ranks of exhibition participants. During four years, the number of participants from abroad increased by 8.3 times.

Applying For Visas

EU passport holders will not require a visa to enter Lithuania, although you will need a passport. If you do not have an EU passport please check with your local Consulate or Embassy. You might need to apply for a tourist or business visa, although the latter may take much more time to arrange. Visa support is strictly limited to our exhibiting clients. Visa support is NOT provided to visitors.
