The Days of Education and Career fair in Macedonia (Balkans) takes place every year in the Macedonian capital of Skopje in April. This international education fair is organised with the view to support Macedonian students orientate themselves with education and career opportunities. Students will be able to research and select programmes offered by educational institutions where they can continue their education or select a company where they can find employed after graduating.
The Days of Education and Career fair brings together in one place all state and private institutions of higher education from the Republic of Macedonia and abroad that represent the undergraduate and post graduate study programs, institutions and companies that have programs of study with scholarships and loans, companies that offer professional practice for students, and companies offering employment of qualified staff to appropriate positions. In 2011 the fair received 30,000 visitors and more than 50 exhibitors from areas including Republic of Macedonia, Slovakia, Serbia, Germany, Canada, Italy, and Great Britain.
Macedonia has 2 million inhabitants and 29,000 high-school graduates every year. The proportion of higher education students studying abroad increases annually, with 3,000 Macedonian students continuing their education abroad each year. Macedonia has an open economy that is integrating into international trade. According to the Republic of Macedonia, there were over 57,000 students enrolled at higher schools and facilities in 2010.
Take the opportunity to present and promote directly to your future students your latest educational programs and benefits and advantages that you offer for them.
The purpose of this event is to offer both current and future students educational opportunities and programmes at higher-educational institutions both domestic and international, institutions and companies that offer grant programmes, scholarships and student loans, companies that offer professional internships and companies that offer employment to qualified personnel from specific areas.
It is felt that the prosperity of Macedonia and the wider Balkan region is enhanced by the presence of exhibitors who attend. This idea is at the heart of the formation of this event and what drives its success. The student fair offers to every participant a unique opportunity to present to the Macedonian public, in the form of open demonstrations, what its institution/country can offer to this student market.
During the fair a variety of additional events will be organised such round tables, workshops and other public presentations. Possible topics are on formal and non-formal education, certificates in the business world, professional development; mobility of students and professionals etc.
The Days of Education and Career fair also provides students with knowledge about financing their studies. The fair was organised for the first time in 1998 under the name Days of International Education. Since, the event has improved greatly and in 2004 Career Days was incorporated as a part of the event to bring a richer experience to everyone.
