The Akademia Higher Education Fair was founded in 1997 upon popular and social demand, and as the name of the fair indicates it is oriented to the secondary school students and the future secondary school graduates, respectively to those who are looking for information on further study at home in Slovakia and abroad. The older students can also find relevant information since the higher-education system gives possibilities to study at various higher education institutions simultaneously, or to study and focus on a scientific career.
The international fair is aimed at students and graduates of secondary schools or higher education institutions, which are looking for information about study offers at universities. The Akademia Higher Education Fair has become highly popular among students, evident from an annual visit rate exceeding 10,000 students from all over Slovakia, from the east to the west.
Czech Republic education continues to advance, thanks to continuously improved provision of courses and programmes in English as well as the increasing number of foreigners residing in the country. The target countries of Czech diploma students include Germany, Slovakia, the United States of America, Australia, the United Kingdom, and France. A large majority of the students go top countries.
The Akademia Fair will take place during three days in the exhibition rooms of Bratislava SIBAMAC aréna NTC in the capital of the Slovak Republic, Bratislava. Exhibitors will offer personal consultations and provide information and promotion materials. The event will also feature lectures and seminars for professional workers. This year the key topic will be "Possibilities to study and work in EU conditions". The seminars enable the exhibitors to present their activities in a predetermined time in seminar rooms.
The Akademia fair is held under the auspices of the Ministry of Education of the Slovak Republic.
