UOWD offers a wide range of facilities to international students such as accommodation, library, computer labs, student clubs and societies and a medical centre on campus.

All classrooms and lecture halls are equipped with audio visual facilities and the whole UOWD campus is wi-fi enabled. In addition students can also access our library on campus and also our online library which will give them an access to various journals and articles.

During leisure time students can play table tennis, pool and play station in the student lounge. There are other board games available too. On campus we have also an e-games arena and a multipurpose hall where students can celebrate festivals and special occasions.

There are various clubs and societies at UOWD which is headed by the Students Representative Council and the Student Services Department.

Why did you choose UOWD for your higher education?

I have chosen to study at UOWD, on the basis of its excellent academic reputation, its highly qualified staff, and the friendly atmosphere.  A lot of my friends from my bachelor degree have also chosen UOWD for their higher education, so I felt it is being seen by a lot of graduates as the best choice for their master’s degree. The location being in Dubai near my home made it easier for me especially with my busy schedule of working and studying at the same time.

Why did you opt for an MSM degree?

I love the field of Marketing and I think if I will continue my studies and do other certificates it will also be in a marketing specialization. Other than my passion toward marketing, a strategic marketing degree is highly desired by big well establish companies that have large marketing departments. Therefore, requiring more in depth academic knowledge in the marketing field will open for me many marketing professions where I can excel and accelerate my career with a good salary. My bachelor degree was in Marketing and Management information systems, and I though it will be more interesting for me to go deep in the strategic marketing field.

Is studying for your degree helping you in your career progression

Yes defiantly. I think a successful combination of academics and practical experience is the best for a person to become fully successful at his/her career. I believe my master degree is widening my horizon and giving me excellent academic concepts and theories that can be used practically in my job.  The company I work for, as well most of the companies in the region offers good promises for workers who advance in their studies while being employed at the company.  Therefore, my master degree is like a weapon to my long term career goals.

Current occupation and future plans

I used to work as PR-communication executive at one of the most famous PR agencies in UAE. Now I am currently working as a marketing research manager at a service firm specialized in offering strategic planning, institutional excellence and quality services as well as other services.

I plan to gain more experience in the field of marketing and then become a brand manager at an international company. Also I am planning to continue my studies maybe to take another certificate from Canada , as I will be moving there in a couple of years.

The following documents must accompany a completed 'Application for Admission':

• Original or certified copy of the secondary school records.
• A Statement or Certificate of Completion of secondary school.
• Proof of English (Note: Results from IELTS & TOEFL tests may be sent to the University directly from the IELTS or TOEFL testing centres quoting the UOWD institution code IELTS: AE109 / TOEFL: 7907).
• 4 passport-sized photographs.
• Copy of the passport (and Residence Visa, if resident in the UAE).
• Certified copy of official academic transcript showing all courses studied and grades obtained, syllabus details (including information on course content) of the courses successfully completed and an explanation of the grading system (applicable only for students seeking advanced standing.

Postgraduate Application Procedures

The completed Application for Admission and other supporting documentation may be submitted to Admissions.

Alternatively, applications may also be submitted through one of the University's nominated Overseas Representatives.

The following documents must accompany a completed 'Application for Admission':

• Original transcripts of the Bachelor degree results.
• A Certificate of Completion (if the above documents are not in English, a certified English translation is required).
• Proof of English language proficiency (results from IELTS & TOEFL tests must be sent to the University directly from the IELTS or TOEFL testing center quoting UOWD institution code (IELTS:AE109/TOEFL:7907).
• Current resume or CV.
• Letters from employers showing 2 years of work experience (for MBA applicants only).
• 2 passport-sized photographs.
